Healthy Communication

DISCUSS & ENGAGE THE SCRIPTURES

  1. Read James 1:19-20. To have healthy communication in the family, we need to model being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Which of these kingdom attributes is God highlighting for you?

  2. What would others say about the culture you’ve created as a listener? Where do you need to grow in being quick to listen?

  3. Read Proverbs 18:21 and Ephesians 4:29. When you speak, is it out of reaction or with intention? What is Jesus teaching you about the impact your words have on others?

  4. Read Galatians 5:19-21. When we walk in the Spirit, we can be free of frustration. How does the Jesus in you want you to respond to things that cause you to feel frustrated, out of control, or angry?

PRAY

Jesus, may we be people who walk in the Spirit, growing in Your righteousness as we become quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.
